Therapeutic Massage

Massage is one of the oldest healing methods. It helps us relax and maintain our health and beauty. Nowadays, a number of massage techniques are available to help us make different situations more comfortable. We can also find relief from certain diseases and musculoskeletal symptoms. In order to treat certain problems, it’s a good idea to combine therapeutic massage with chiropractic.

When should you go for a massage?

  • tight, spastic muscles
  • musculoskeletal problems
  • problems with spine
  • stiffness of the muscles of the spine
  • joint motion disorders
  • headache caused by stress
  • recovery from injury
  • neck, shoulder, back, and lower back pain
  • symptoms caused by posture problems
  • muscle relaxation after sport
  • relaxation
  • musculoskeletal exertion, edema, preventing stretch marks resulted by pregnancy
  • baby massage: to ease abdominal pain, bonding, affectionate indulgence

With all musculoskeletal problems, our first step is to recommend a rheumatologic checkup, where our specialists make a diagnosis and therapeutic plan to treat the problem, supported by our chiropractors.

Massages available in our office:

  • Swedish massage: This is a widespread type of western massage which typically refreshes the body with smoothing, rubbing, vibrating and kneading movements.
  • Therapeutic massage: With this western massage we focus on problematic areas. Therapeutic massage stimulates blood circulation and cell metabolism, decreases muscle pain, and relaxes the treated areas.
  • Spine massage: With the special spine massage, we loosen the muscles the hold the spine and small joint blocks.
  • Prenatal massage: It helps to effectively relieve back, leg, and sacral pain as the pregnancy progresses. It also has a beneficial effect on the musculoskeletal system, as it increases the flexibility of the muscles, nourishes and softens the skin, and encourages stretching without stretch marks. With prenatal massage, the body’s fluid retention problems can be effectively corrected and the water retention of the limbs can also be decreased in the second and third trimester.
  • Baby massage: Mothers instinctively know that a baby needs to be embraced, rocked and gently caressed. Massage has a lot of advantages:  it helps reduce symptoms of belly pain, stimulates the skin and the respiratory and lymphatic systems, and helps relieve stress. Our massage therapist teaches parents the proper technique so they can also indulge their baby.
