The neurologist and somnologist Dr Zsuzsanna Vida graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Semmelweis University in Budapest, before also completing a specialization in neurology. Since the very start of her studies, the central nervous system has been Dr Vida's main field of interest. In the course of her medical career, she has identified and treated a wide range of neurological diseases, with a particular focus on multiple sclerosis, dementia, headaches, Parkinson's disease, neuromuscular disorders and epilepsy.
Dr Vida has also worked in the field somnology, or sleep medicine, since 2003. In 2007, she received the title of "proficient expert in sleep medicine" from the Hungarian Society for Sleep Diagnostics and Therapy, before being certified as a licensed sleep medicine expert and somnologist in 2010.
When deciding on a course of treatment course, by combining her expertise in neurology and somnology, Dr Vida is able to take into account sleep-related issues that would not usually emerge in a conventional, routine examination. This holistic approach has helped Dr Vida treat many patients who have come to her with a wide range of different problems. Dr Vida's experiences have reinforced her conviction that it is vital to focus on the three forms found in the life of a patient: waking life, sleep and dreams.
