After finishing secondary school Dr. Szabó attended Semmelweis University Medical School from which he graduated summa cum laude in 1994. During his university years he spent several months at famous universities abroad as a member of student exchange programs (Germany, The Netherlands, Greece). After finishing medical school he started to work as a resident in the 2nd Dept. of Internal Medicine Semmelweis University Medical School, where he obtained board certification in Internal Medicine (2000) and in Endocrinology (2002), with an excellent rating. In 1998 he spent 6 months in the USA (Northwestern University, Chicago) doing research in the field of bone metabolism. Between 2004 and 2008 he worked at the Dept. of Isotope Diagnosis, Treatment and Internal Medicine, Petz Aladar County Teaching Hospital, Győr. In 2006 he obtained board certification in nuclear medicine with an excellent rating. In Győr, besides isotope diagnosis, he cared for a high volume of outpatients with thyroid disease. In 2007 he became the head of the department. Dr. Szabo’s next project entailed heading up the Budapest headquarter at ScanoMed Medical Diagnostic, Research and Education Ltd. (former PET-CT Ltd).
In his free time he likes being with his two sons, playing basketball, swimming, bicycle riding, and hiking. Computers are another hobby of Dr. Szabo’s.
