Dr Lajtai gained his medical degree at the Faculty of Medicine at Semmelweis University in 1989 before working until 1997 at the Hungarian National Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology. He completed specializations in psychiatry in 1993, psychotherapy in 1995 and child and adolescent psychology in 1997. Since 1997, Dr Lajtai has worked at the Semmelweis University Institute of Behavioral Sciences. He has participated in various medical and anthropological research projects, carrying out field research in Guatemala, Nepal and Mauritius. Since 2005, he has spent a lot of time in the United Kingdom, received his postgraduate PhD title at the University of Edinburgh and working in several British child psychiatric clinics as a child psychiatrist. He is the happy father to three children and his favorite sports are badminton, archery, floorball and cycling.
