Dr. Fülöp earned his medical degree in 1965 from the Budapest Medical University. He worked on fellowships in 1968 at the Bath Royal Rheumatology Institute in England, in 1970 at Prague Charles University, at the Bratislava University Clinic and at the Pöstyén Balneology Research Institute.
He has taken study trips to Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Italy, France and Germany. He passed specialist exams for Rheumatology and Physiotherapy in 1969, then for musculoskeletal rehabilitation in 1997. Between 1965 and 1979 he worked at the National Rheumatology and Physiotherapy Institute, alongside which he was the professional consultant for the Danubius Hotel and Medicinal Bath Corporation between 1976 and 1979, then the Medical Director of the Danubius Hotel and Medicinal Bath Corporation between 1979 and 1981. Between 1981 and 2010 he was the Department Head of the Unified Metropolitan St. István and St. László Hospital Clinic. Between 2010 and 2014 he worked as a specialist at the National Sports Medicine Institute. Between 1996 and 2006 he was President and Board Member of the Hungarian Rheumatology Society Budapest Section, and is currently President Emeritus. Between 1986 and 1992 he was Secretary of the Hungarian Balneology Society, until 1996 he was a member of its editing committee, and until 2008 he was a member of its board. In 2002 he was appointed Professional Ambassador of the French Rheumatology Society, and since 2009 has been a member of the English Osteoporosis Society. Since 2010 he has been a member of the Balneology Professional College.
He is married and is the father of two adult sons.
