Dr Szabó gained his medical degree from Semmelweis Medical University,before completing specializations in internal medicine, gastroenterology and as a general practitioner. He currently works at Health Clinic No. 1 of the Bajcsy-Zsilinszky Hospital. Dr Szabó works as chief physician in the Department of Internal Medicine, while he has also operated as a general practitioner in Kőbánya since 1997. He has been carrying out endoscopies in a hospital setting since 1993, so he has more than two decades of experience in the field. He has also expanded his knowledge by studying abroad. Dr Szabó has been carrying out abdominal ultrasounds on a daily basis for ten years, while he has also studied to be a general practitioner and endoscopist so he can approach the problems his patients come to him with from a variety of professional perspectives. His goal is to be able to understand his patient's issues as a whole and treat each patient as an individual.
Since 2015, he has taught general medicine at Semmelweis University, where he primarily lectures in English.
The most important part of his professional life is his voluntary work: he is the national president of the Hungarian National Association of Large Families and has also served as president of The Confederation of Family Associations in the Carpathian Basin. In recognition of his social work as a community builder and organizer for families and children, Dr Szabó was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Hungarian Republic in 2010, as well as the Pro Familia Award in 2014.
His family is extremely important to him and he is a happy father to four children.
He enjoys alpine climbing and hiking, and has completed 134 hiking tours across Europe since 1991. In his free time, he enjoys playing music. He plays several instruments and also conducts a church orchestra.
