Ágnes Sallai graduated summa cum laude from Semmelweis University Medical School in Budapest in 1984. She attained board certification in Pediatrics in 1993 and in Endocrinology in 1998. A short part of her training was conducted at the Children’s Hospital of Ulm University, Germany in the Pediatric Endocrinology Unit and Steroid Laboratory in 1992 and 1994.

She received her PhD degree from Semmelweis University in Budapest in 2010. The title of her work: The benefits of molecular genetic analysis in the prevention of certain endocrine tumors.

She is head physician of the 2nd Department of Pediatrics at Semmelweis University. Her special interests are impairment of linear growth, Turner syndrome, disorders of sexual differentiation, thyroid disorders, endocrine tumors and endocrine effects of cancer treatment. Her responsibilities include teaching medical students and medical residents in Hungarian, English and German language.

Dr. Sallai is married and has two adult children. She enjoys reading, going to theatre and walking in her spare time. Her favorite sports are skiing and swimming.
